Starting BreezeBrowser

There are several ways to start BreezeBrowser and browse images:

  1. Select BreezeBrowser from the program menu or click on the desktop shortcut. BreezeBrowser will startup and display images in the same directory as when it was last run.
  2. Drag a directory from Windows Explorer and drop it on the BreezeBrowser shortcut. BreezeBrowser will startup and display the images in that directory.
NOTE: You can also drag and drop files or directories on to the BreezeBrowser window when the program is running.
  3. Drag one or more image files from Windows Explorer and drop them on the BreezeBrowser shortcut. BreezeBrowser will startup and display the dropped images. To view all the images in the directory select the "File->Refresh Directory" menu option.
  4. Start BreezeBrowser and then use the directory browser to select the directory to browse. To display the directory browser select the "File->Open..." menu option.

To refresh the image list (e.g. after downloading more files into the directory) select the "File->Refresh Directory" menu item or press the F5 key.

Press F1 for context-sensitive help.

Adding a "Browse with BreezeBrowser" option to Windows Explorer

Select "Shortcut..." from the File menu in BreezeBrowser to add a "Browser with BreezeBrowser" option when you right click on a folder in Windows Explorer. You can remove the menu item by selecting "Shortcut..." again.

Transferring Images from your Camera

BreezeBrowser cannot read images directly from your camera and so it is necessary to transfer them to your computer's hard disk first. This can be done either by downloading the images from the camera via the USB cable or by using a card reader (either USB or FireWire). Our Downloader Pro application has been designed to download images quickly and simply from Canon cameras or using a card reader with any DCF compliant camera.

Downloader Pro and BreezeBrowser have been designed to work together but you don't need Downloader Pro in order to run BreezeBrowser. When Downloader Pro is installed on your system the "File" menu in BreezeBrowser has the option "Download files..." added. When this option is selected Downloader Pro is refreshed if it is already running or started up if it is not running. Downloader Pro can be set up to automatically download files from your camera or card reader, delete them from the CF card and then launch BreezeBrowser to view them. If BreezeBrowser is already running Downloader Pro will make the BreezeBrowser window visible and display the downloaded files. If BreezeBrowser is busy Downloader Pro will ask you whether you want to run another copy of BreezeBrowser to view the files.

Downloader Pro can be downloaded from www.breezesys.com.

Main View and Thumbnail View

BreezeBrowser starts up displaying the main view with a large display of one image together with the comment, histogram display and EXIF summary. The thumbnail view shows all the images in a directory as a series of small thumbnail views. To switch between Main View and Thumbnail View click on the "Thumbnails" button, double-click on the image or select the "View->Thumbnails" menu item.

NOTE: Most options can be selected using the File, Edit, View and Tools menus or by right-clicking on the image and selecting the option from the pop-up menu.
